Latvian vocalist Līva Dumpe is first and foremost a storyteller, described as tameless and impressionistic with an affinity for the free and avant-garde. Her debut album “Tālskatis”, alongside her quintet, was nominated for both Best Jazz Album and Best Debut Album at the Latvian music awards Zelta Mikrofons in 2025.

after presenting her solo program at the legendary bimhuis,she continues exploration Rooted in Latvian folk ritual and symbolism. her songwriting is catchy, yet the harmonic language and expansion of vocal possibilities leave you guessing at every turn. With a background in classical piano and jazz vocals, her music weaves stories through improvisation.

Līva actively performs across the Netherlands, Latvia, and Europe, both as a soloist and collaborator. She has worked with artists such as Louis Cole & Metropole Orkest, brad mehldau, Fuensanta, Ben van Gelder, Kika Sprangers, jasper blom, joris roelofs, Marta Arpini, Flatland Prayer, meander trio, federica lorusso and others.
